ITEM 1. The September 13, 2011 Veazie Town Council meeting was called to order at 6:30PM.
ITEM 2. Executive Session – Town Council Rights & Responsibilities Discussion with Town Attorney
Motion By: Councilor King—to move into executive session to review the rights and responsibilities of the Town Council with the Town Attorney. Seconded: Councilor Perkins, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor King—to close the executive session and resume normal session. Seconded: Councilor Perkins, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to appoint Julie Reed as acting town treasurer. Seconded: Councilor Olson, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to appoint Julie Reed as acting town tax collector. Seconded: Councilor Olson, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to appoint Karen Morin as acting town clerk. Seconded: Councilor Olson, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to appoint Karen Morin as acting overseer of the poor ie. Welfare Director. Seconded: Councilor King, Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to appoint Karen Morin as motor vehicle agent. Seconded: Councilor King, Voted 4-0 in favor.
ITEM 3. Discussion of Interim Management Plan
Chairman Friedman outlined that the Council has named some employees as acting until they know which direction they are going in. The Council is looking at the possibility of an independent assistant to come in, however, they have some other options too.
ITEM 4. Adjournment: Motion: Councilor King—to adjourn the September 13, 2011 Town Council Meeting. Seconded: Councilor Perkins. There was no further discussion. Voted 4-0. Meeting adjourned 7:03 pm.
