ITEM 1. The May 21, 2007 Veazie Town Council meeting was called to order at 7:00PM.
ITEM 2. Consideration of the Minutes
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to accept the May 14, 2007 meeting minutes as written. Seconded: Councilor Hathaway, Voted 3-0-2 in favor. Councilor King and Councilor Friedman abstained due to their absence.
ITEM 3. Consideration of the Agenda
There were no additions to the agenda.
ITEM 4a. Credit Quality Improvement Grant
Manager Reed outlined that the Bangor Area Storm Water Group got the official letter saying that the grant had been approved. Allan Thomas, Administrator, stated that a Town Official needs to sign the grant documents on the Town’s behalf.
Motion By: Councilor Perkins—to accept the Credit Quality Improvement Grant funds and to authorize the Town Manager to sign the grant documents on the Town’s behalf. Seconded: Councilor Hathaway, Voted 5-0 in favor.
ITEM 4b. General Assistance Transfer
Manager Reed outlined that the General Assistance fund is overspent by some $5,400. Staff is requesting that the fund be replenished since the Town is required by law to provide General Assistance.
Motion By: Councilor Friedman—to transfer $7,000 from the General Fund—Undesignated Fund to the General Assistance Fund. Seconded: Councilor King, Voted 5-0 in favor.
ITEM 5a. Manager’s Review
Motion By: Councilor King—to go into executive session under 1 M.R.S.A. Section 405-6-A for annual personnel evaluation. Seconded: Councilor Friedman, Voted 5-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Friedman—to return to regular session: Seconded: Councilor King, Voted 5-0 in favor.
Motion By: Councilor Friedman—to grant the Town Manager a three year contract expiring in 2010 and a 2.5% increase in salary. Seconded: Councilor King, Voted 5-0 in favor.
ITEM 6. Comments from the Public
There were no comments from the public.
ITEM 7. Manager’s Report
a. The Town Council reviewed a copy of a memo detailing the mutual understanding on the ball field’s maintenance. All parties were involved in the discussions and staff is in hopes that this will serve as guideline on how everyone should come together on the maintenance of the fields.
b. The Town Council reviewed a copy of a press release that Moores and Cabot provided detailing that Standard and Poors upgraded Maine’s GO bond rating.
c. The Town Council reviewed a copy of the Fire Department’s monthly report.

There were no requests for information or Town Council comments.
ITEM 9. Adjournment: Motion: Councilor King —to adjourn the May 21, 2007 Town Council Meeting. Seconded: Councilor Friedman —there was no further discussion. Voted 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
