Elementary Stow Building Committee, December 8, 2008
Attendance:
David Korn, Stephen Quinn, Gary Bernklow, Craig Martin, Ellen Sturgis, Michael Wood, Lynn Colletti, Paul Griffin
MAGIC
Discussion of Obama’s stimulus plan may include additional money for schools. Paul said, yes, but it might go directly to the MSBA, and therefore, for a greater percentage, on projects. The MSBA program has a protected number (1 cent), after 2010, 95% of 1 cent, which comes out to be 700 million; sales tax has been down 4% each of the last two months (only down 32 million).
Update
Ellen gave an update: Introduced Paul Griffin, CMS Principal, who will be the Town’s OPM; according to our OPM, MSBA has essentially has approved our project; discussed the possibility of our feasibility design might be acceptable since they have not questioned it thus far.
Paul will work with Joe Buckley to determine the actual schedule of the project. Paul thinks we can get the RFDS for the Architect back by MSBA’s February Board meeting and finish up schematic design 12 weeks after. (Estimated- optimistic aggressive schedule)
Reviewed the RFS:
· (Paul said he will review the timelines with Joe Buckley of MSBA.)
· Lynn brought up safety, phasing, and scheduling
· Decided to leave in Theatrical Engineer
