The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on this date at 4:00 p.m. at the Stonington Town Hall. Present were First Selectman William S. Brown, Selectman Stephen E. Bessette and Selectman Peter L. Balestracci. Also present were members of the press.
(1) Call to Order
Mr. Brown called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
(2) Board of Selectmen’s recommendation re: WPCA Facilities Plan
Mr. Brown suggested he would entertain a motion that the Board of Selectmen does not support the recommendation of the Water Pollution Control Authority to consolidate the Town’s three existing sewage treatment facilities into one new facility and that this plan should not be forwarded to the Department of Environmental Protection and that the WPCA should continue to seek a solution to the Town’s treatment facilities infrastructure that meets the needs of the Town and that would be acceptable to its residents.
The motion was made by Mr. Bessette, seconded by Mr. Balestracci and unanimously voted.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the special meeting was adjourned at 4:04 p.m.
