Hearings

Notice of Intent, Wachusett Solar, 67 Wachusett Street.  DEP File # 277-0489.  Hearing opened at 7:31 PM.  Green cards received.
James Taylor property on Wachusett Street.  They are surrounded by wetlands, but the solar panels will be in the middle of the property.  They are staying outside the 50’ buffer zone and will have very limited tree removal.  They will have small shallow “holes” instead of detention basins.  The homeowner would prefer white pine trees as opposed to Evergreen trees being planted.  Joe said that would be fine.  Most of the clearing is already done, and they won’t be disturbing the wetlands.  There will be an access road that is 10’ foot wide and outside the 50’ buffer zone.  There was another isolated wetland, but the tree clearing company went through it and it is gone.  Peter asked if the solar farm would be visible to abutters.  Alan said they should be from the work they are doing.  Eric asked about the elevation of the area and Lesley said it should be level.  Motion to close hearing made by Peter, seconded by Eric; vote unanimous at 7:45 PM.
Discussions
Letter about Brice-Lemon Estates area?
We received a letter about the area that is probably Brice-Lemon estates (letter states “a subdivision that Blair is building” from “Bob and Jean”.  We are unable to respond due to lack of information from the complainants, but the Board will do a site walk of Brice-Lemon estates and we will discuss the next meeting.
