Rutland Cable Advisory Committee
March 18, 2014 - 6:30 PM at the Library
Present: Paul Mattson, Addison Redfield & Brenda Savoie
Ray Becker & Kathy Clark were absent.
The meeting opened at 6:35 p.m.
Minutes
A motion to approve the minutes of January 15 & February 12, 2014 (Addison/Brenda) passed 3/0.
Old Business
The current estimates were reviewed:
Preliminary Electrical Work $3300
D&D HVAC $24,800
O’Connell Fire $3486.35
Bill Jarvi desk/podium $9500
Library wish list $5000
Total to date: $46,086.35
The desk & podium expense of $9,500 was removed from the list until details are received from Bay Path. The new total is 36586.35. Addison was able to get Dave from Bay Path on a speaker phone. They are very interested in building the desk and podium. The estimate for material is $1000 to $1500. Dave will verify timing, with the vocational director and get back to Addison.
Ray Becker was on speaker phone and asked if Bay Path would do the electrical panel. Dave said it is possible.
Estimates from Bill Senecal need to be figured in once he provides them. They will be based on material only.
Paul noted he hopes to have a final contract with Charter in place by June.
New Business
- Paul will get figures for equipment in the BOS area
- Library Trustees discussed leaving the layout as planned; they need space for paper work and offered shelving as an alternative in the back room area.
- Trustees are working with Chart to get a Wi-Fi line and asked if we can negotiate no charges for all buildings. Paul will get further clarification.
Paul mentioned the possibility of a renewable wish list for the library in lieu of utilities payments. The committee does not want to go this route. It was agreed we will provide a onetime only payment. Usage of utilities will be paid by the committee.
- There was discussion on the annual percentage of revenue from Charter. At this time, 3% is being considered, more discussion will take place.
The next meeting will be held on April 9th. The meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m. All were in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Brenda Savoie
