Present: Joseph R. Becker, Chairman; Peter Letsky, Clerk; Sheila H. Dibb & Leroy Clark. Michael Pantos was not present.
Also present: Members of the RDIC (Tom Dufault, Mike Sullivan, Chris Senecal, Mark O’Clair and Don D’Auteuil) and Finance Committee (Lyndon Nichols & Carl Bindoo).
Meeting opened at 7:08 p.m. Mr. Sullivan thanked Mr. Dufault for the 17 years of work on the project. 1995 plan is outdated. GLC is the new name of the Planning Proposal.
Pat Byrd from Clark University made a power point presentation on a Wind Study.
Model #1 – Public ownership, Mount Wachusett Community College – wind generates 68% of power.
Model #2 – Private ownership, Scituate, partnered with Scituate Energy LLC.
Savings $300,000 / year.
Recc credits – 15% of Recc Revenue. 3.5% per kw hour, 450 feet high.
Lengthy discussion by many people; noise concerns, height, etc.
RDIC are the stewards of the land and is deeded to them.
Power point showing projected uses and discussions.
