7:30 pm
Present: Joseph R. Becker, Chairman, Michael S. Pantos, Vice-Chairman, Leroy C. Clark and Sheila H. Dibb. Peter Letsky, Clerk was absent.
Discussion on Building Inspector position, specifically the pay grade which is currently at MTP 4, Step 2 at $25.35. Harry Johnson was MTP 5, Step 1 at $27.15. Mr. Pantos moved to appoint Richard Travers to a one-year appointment as building inspector with a review at the end of the year – pay rate to be MTP 4, Step 3 until certifications are received, then move to an MTP 5, Step 1. Mr. Clark seconded. Vote unanimous.
Mr. Becker to contact Mr. Burlingame about his interest in the alternate position.
Mr. Becker discussed the plumbing position with regard to whether or not the hours should be brought down to 12. Mr. Pantos motioned to start at 12 hours for the plumbing/gas inspector. Mr. Clark seconded. Vote unanimous.
Mr. Becker recused himself from the discussion on the plumbing candidates. Mr. Clark suggested appointing Byron Carpenter as inspector and Mr. Bottis as the alternate. Mrs. Dibb has concerns regarding Mr. Bottis and Mr. Clark has concerns with Mr. Smith. Mr. Clark moved to appoint James Smith as plumbing/gas inspector for a one-year term at 21.75 an hour for 12 hours to start. Mr. Pantos seconded. Mr. Pantos and Mrs. Dibb aye. Mr. Clark nay. Mr. Pantos will call the plumbing candidates.
Other Business: Mr. Pantos noted that he is attempting to follow up with Mike Stoddard, Jr.
Mr. Pantos moved to adjourn. Mr. Clark seconded. Vote unanimous. Meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
