Board of Selectmen
June 22, 2011
Community Hall Annex
6:30 p.m.

Present:  Joseph R. Becker – Chairman, Leroy C. Clark, Peter Letsky – Clerk, and Nancy M. Macaruso – Secretary.  Sheila H. Dibb and Michael Pantos were absent.

Also present:  Capital Improvement Project Committee – Harry Sechman, Addison Redfield, Ramey Erickson and Donald DeLeire.

Mr. Sechman stated that the purpose of meeting with the Selectmen was to review the actions at the Town Meeting, specifically the Naquag renovations issue, lack of information available to them from Wachusett and clarification on how to move forward.  He wanted to know what credence the Selectmen held toward the CIPC.  He is questioning if the School District fulfilled their end of the lease agreement, but needs to review the agreement first.  Addison Redfield expressed his concern about the Selectmen not heeding their recommendations and questioned the usefulness of his Board to which Mr. Becker stated that the CIPC provides a tremendous service to the town and this one issue has been the only fork in the road.  Mr. Becker further stated that 99% of their Board’s recommendations are being adhered to.

The CIPC would like to see a list of what has been maintained in the schools over the years.  Mr. Letsky will be meeting with the principal and custodian of Glenwood tomorrow.

Mr. Becker will ask for a maintenance list from the District as well as asking for a “sit down” with the District.  Another suggestion to the CIPC from Mr. Becker was to include the District’s administration when requests go out for projects prior to budget season rather than just the School Committee.

Mr. Letsky thanked the CIPC for a job well done.  At 7:15 pm Mr. Letsky made a motion to recess until the Health Insurance group comes in at 7:30 pm.  Mr. Clark seconded.  Vote unanimous.

7:30 p.m. Some members of the Health Insurance Advisory Committee (Sally Hayden and Tom Downey) Barbara Sbrogna and Lou Paradis from MIIA were present.  Mr. Paradis handed out paperwork describing three different “Personal Savings Accounts” regarding health insurance.  Sally Hayden will meet with all members of the Health Insurance Advisory Committee to discuss and will get back to the Selectmen.

Memo from July 4th Committee asking if the Board is marching in the parade.  Mr. Becker, Mr. Letsky and Mr. Clark all yes – will check with Mr. Pantos & Mrs. Dibb and let the committee know.

Memo from Recreation asking for judges for the Bike & Doll Carriage parade.  Mr. Becker, Mr. Letsky and Mr. Clark will all judge.

Kerry Remington submitted a letter of interest on filling a vacancy on the Health Insurance Advisory Committee – will add to next agenda for reappointments.

Mr. Clark moved to adjourn.  Mr. Letsky seconded.  Vote unanimous.  Meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy M. Macaruso, Secretary
Board of Selectmen
