Minutes of the Board of Assessors' Meeting held on January 6, 2015 in the Assessors' Office located in
the Town Hall.
Members Present: Arthur Lincoln (Chair), Jeffrey Gibbs (Member), Harald Scheid (Regional Assessor),
Diane Peterson (Regional Assessor, RRG) and Justine Lapierre (Assessors' Clerk)
Board Members Absent: Joyce McGuinness (Member),
Meeting brought to order at 8:33 a.m.

The following discussions took place:
• The BOA discusses the application CP-4 2015001. This form is used to exempt tax payers from
the Community Preservation Act taxation (CPA). CPA is not assessed in the Town of Rutland.
It seems as if the taxpayer is looking for a assistance on their taxes due to financial difficulties.
Unfortunately, the only assistance available is for disabled veterans or persons 70 or older with
low income and asset levels. The applicant does not meet these requirements; therefore the
Assessors can offer no assistance. Justine will call the taxpayer the follow day to inform him/her
of the Assessors decision, as well as recommend that they contact the Treasurer/Collector's
office to try and set up a payment plan.

• Diane was introduced to the BOA. She will be taking over the Assessor position from Brad
Dunn. She will be in the office 2 ways a week. Those two days have not yet been set, but will
be by the next meeting.
The next Board of Assessors Meeting is to be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in the
Assessors' Office located in the Town Hall.
The Meeting was adjourned at 9:03 a.m.
