            Present:   Richard Surrette, Chair 
                           Robert Paulsen, Member
                           Paul Kirrane, Associate Member
                       Lynn Miller, Secretary

            Absent:          Chris Senecal, Vice-Chair
                           Arthur Wells, Associate Member


        Opening of meeting by the Chairman:    
                Richard Surrette opened the meeting at 6:30 pm.

Acceptance of Minutes:     Robert Paulsen motioned to approve the minutes of July 13, 2016. Paul Kirrane seconded. Motion made and seconded. Vote was unanimous.

The Board of Appeals will be referred to as the “Board”.

Public Hearings:

6:30 p.m.


Richard and Lisa Garstka, 32 Cheryl Ann Drive, Rutland, MA is seeking a front yard setback
Variance to replace existing concrete stairs with a 12’ X 5’ porch.

Voting members:  Richard Surrette, Robert Paulsen and Jacob Morris


Present:   No abutters were present, Owners were present

The Board of Health memo was reviewed. No concerns at this time. The Board did not receive a memo or receive any feedback from the Planning Board.  

A letter that was submitted from Richard and Barbara Gaffney, 23 Cheryl Ann Drive was reviewed by the Board.  They could not be present.  They have no objections to this proposed project.

Richard and Lisa Garstka, owners stated they have replaced the front steps once. Stairs keep moving away from the house. There is a gap about 5’-6’.


Richard Surrette motioned to grant a 5 foot front set back variance.  Jacob Morris seconded.  All in favor.  Variance was granted.
