October 22, 2010
8:23 AM, Acting Chair Gary Anderson opened the meeting and asked all those present to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Present: Gary Anderson, Mary Bonser,
Others: Charles Brown, Town Administrator and Heidi Seaverns
Ms. Bonser began by making a motion to ask Commerford, Neider and Perkins, the Town’s assessing firm to meet with the Board of Selectmen and answer questions regarding the update process. To include methodology and how they have arrived at the preliminary values.
Second Mr. Anderson.
Discussion included suggestions to first ask the Board of Assessors for their input and concurrence with the proposed meeting, invite the Town’s DRA representative and provide a list of questions to CNP so they can be properly prepared. Everyone hopes there maybe more insight into the process after the informal hearings today and Saturday.
8:50 AM, There was a short recess to allow Mr. Brown to respond to an important phone call.
9:07 AM, the meeting resumed.
Vote: All in favor. Motion passed: 2-0
Next the Board moved on to the budget process.
Mr. Brown provided draft budget worksheets and narratives to the Board. Mr. Brown began by stating that department heads and he are budgeting for minimal salary increases in 2011. He continued going through the different accounts in the order of the worksheets. Overall the operating budgets have no large increases.
The capitol reserve allocations are being requested at the $50,000 level. The only large addition to the budget may be a new Versa-Handler (Loader) for the Recycling Center. The full Board will discuss this further before final budget submittal.
Mr. Brown will confirm and post the proposed meting with CNP.

Motion: Bonser, second Anderson to adjourn the meeting.
Vote: All in favor. Motion passed 2-0.
