Selectmen’s Workshop
May 3, 2007
9:05 AM Chair Bock opened the meeting.
Members Present: Peter Bock, Bill Netishen, Mary Bonser and Town Administrator Charles Brown.
Mr. Bock explained that this meeting would serve to take care of some administrative issues and a short non-public matter that needs clarification.
The Board signed checks per request of Bookkeeper.
Motion: Bonser, second Netishen to enter non-public session under RSA 91A: 3 II (a).
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
9:20 AM Motion: Bonser, second Netishen to come out of non-public session.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Motion: Netishen, second Bonser to keep all discussion non-public.
Vote: 3-0 in favor.
Returned to regular session.
There was much discussion regarding the Nottingham Lake Dam and the Mill Pond Bridge.
Mr. Bock stated he has received calls from residents concerned about the changed school bus routes.
Mr. Brown briefed the Board on the status of the contract for the new Fire / Rescue building. All is moving along well.
The Board briefly discussed the boundary line issue at the square. The notes from the plan have been faxed to Town Counsel. There is nothing to report from the surveyor at this time. The Board hopes to keep the process moving as fast as possible.
Mr. Brown has asked the town attorney to make contact with Allen Brooks of the Attorney General’s Office regarding the State’s lien on 229 Mill Pond Road.
The Board next discussed committee assignments.
Mr. Netishen will be the Board’s representative to the Building Committee, PLAC and the liaison to the Building Department & the Highway Department.
Ms. Bonser will be the Board’s representative to the Budget Committee and the alternate to the Planning Board and the liaison to the Recycling Center.
Mr. Bock will be the Board’s representative to the Planning Board and the liaison to the Police Department and the Recreation Department.
The Board will discuss the Selectmen’s representative to the CIP in the fall.
The Board recognizes that we must direct additional effort toward the recycling initiative. There should be two people on site on Tuesday evening and on Saturday for a period of time to help inform and educate residents about Nottingham’s recycling requirements. There also needs to be additional effort to instruct our attendants in a proper method of confronting violators.
