Meeting Minutes
April 21st, 2008
Call to order
Filling in for the Chairman of the Advisory Assessing Committee, Lisa Stevens, called to order the meeting of the Advisory Assessing Committee at 7:15pm on April 21st, 2008 in the Nottingham Town Offices.
Roll call
Lisa Stevens, conducted a roll call. The following committee members were present: Lisa Stevens, June Proko, and Jeff Gurrier. The following alternates were present: Skip Seaverns. The following members of the public were present: none.
Approval of minutes from last meeting
The draft minutes from the prior meeting were not voted on.
Open issues
1) The committee continued work on a tax card education plan.
2) Lisa Stevens presented a copy of a past article in the Deerfield, NH newsletter that briefly explained how a tax card is formatted.
3) Discussion followed on whether more or less information would be more helpful to residents and how that would effect inclusion in the Town newsletter.
4) Creation of a pamphlet that could be mailed to residents was also discussed. The cost of mailing a pamphlet was explored. An idea was raised about whether the pamphlet could be included when a tax card was mailed to a resident.
5) It was agreed that the group would review each section of a tax card and write down specific questions that an average citizen would have about it. Then the group would research appropriate answers for those questions. Based on the results, an appropriate format would be determined.
