School Ad Hoc Committee Minutes Draft
1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order by Chairman Walt Mathwich at 7:10 pm
2. ROLL CALL: Members Present: Walt Mathwich (Chairman), Bob Carlson, Leslie Driscoll, Sam Cherenzia, Arthur Dobley, J ulie Lanier (Recording Secretary) and Brett Mastroianni. Missing: Jeff Frenette (Correspondance Secretary), and Chris D’Angelo (Vice-Chairman).

5. MINUTES: 04-23-2012 and 05-14-2012 were approved.

9. DISCUSSIONS: Members voted on options for building projects presented at 04-23-2012 by Quisenberry Architects (Rusty) that will be recommended to BOE, BOS and BOF (Walt to send email to these boards with recomendations and also to schedule meeting with Facilities sub committee of BOE). For the Elementary School, Option D is recommended that includes 6th grade students moving back to the Elementary school. For the middle/high school, option C is recommended. By bringing the 6th graders back to the elementary school this would increase the town's reimbursement rate (based on sq footage/pupil) and the building would be fully utilized. Option C of the middle/high school plan includes taking down the current middle school and leaving as open space (for future development as needed). This would also help with reimbursement as well. Outstanding plans not presented/discussed that are due by Quisenberry are plans for the gymatorium and central offices. The group feels that
the main focus of their responsibilities have been filled (recommend plan and provide costs) and will meet on an as needed basis going forward.
