Opened meeting at 7:05 p.m.
Members present: Robert Boissevain, Robert Kimball, Peter Bogoian, Linda Pershaec, Marilyn Mackay, Brent Woodward, Bradford Currier and Mark Perkins.
Presentation was put first on agenda
1) "Planning for Economic Development – Part II"; North Stonington Economic Development Commission Presentation Presented By: C. James Gibbons Jr - A Professional Land Use Planner
Mr. Gibbons is a Land Use and Natural Resource Program Coordinator with the University Of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System. He is a professional land use planner who has been part of the faculty for 31 years. Prior to his UConn appointment, Mr. Gibbons was employed as a Land Use Planning Consultant for 10 years, developing land use plans and writing land use regulations for communities throughout the northeast.
The presentation was on the amount of retail space we have and how much can the town support.
Mr. Gibbons explained the need for a market analysis and what areas needed to be studied.

1) Election of Officers; The election of 2009 EDC officers was held immediately following the Presentation.

Motion to close election was made by Mark Perkins and seconded by Marilyn Mackay. One vote was cast.
2) EDC Business letter / survey mailing and the need to obtain a USPS Bulk
Mailing Permit
Marilyn Mackay explained that to do a bulk mailing EDC would have to have its own bulk permit. The motion to allow $200. for a bulk permit and $500 for the mailing was made by Robert Kimball and seconded by Robert Boissevain. Marilyn will check with the post office on obtaining a bulk permit.
Motion to adjourn was made by Robert Kimball and seconded by Robert Boissevain.
