Called to order: 6:10 PM
Present: Bill Ricker, Mike Charnetski, Tony Rose, Warren Speh and Marc Jaffan (6:50)

Ongoing/Old Business:
- Rocky Hollow Recreation Area – Received letter from DEEP rejecting our request for 8+ acres added to the leased recreation area as “it would have a negative effect on the wildlife buffer.” Discussed prospect of using 15+ town owed land adjacent to Pinecrest as a land swap. Agreed to revisit in one year. Warren suggested contacting the Switzer children at that time to reopen any possibility of the sale of their buffer land to DEEP.
- Stewart Hill trail : Trail work will continue Saturday October 18th from 2pm to dusk. Follow-up date if needed on Saturday October 25 from 9am – quitting time. Bill will
e-mail others who have indicated an interest in helping. Weed whacking, Roundup for Poison Ivy, trail sign placement and some chain saw work will complete the trail.
- Atty. Eppinger wrote a letter to the President & CEO of Peoples United Bank August 19th, asking their action on our request to honor the 1989 decision to deed the town the 5.5 ac. parcel #5251.
- Stewart property letter – no response to date
- October 18th ICONS (Informed Citizens of North Stonington) will be holding a Community Conversation at the Elementary School from 9am – 1pm. All board & commission members are encouraged to participate.
- Draft letter was reviewed for several of the 26 parcels recommended in our PCRL as desirous in acquiring. Marc will take our revisions and tweak a 2nd draft.
- Calendar will be ready this coming week. Bill will distribute to commissioners and place in library, town hall and businesses. Cost still $10.
- Two owners on parcels #8101 and #1857 on Wyassup Lake Rd have been contacted. Bill will schedule a walk through and post “Conservation Easement” signs after leaf fall.
New Business:
- Bill submitted a bill for $59.91for computer ink in developing the 2015 calendar.
Motion made and seconded to approve: 4-0-1
- Approved membership in CACIWC @ $60 and CT Land Conservation Council for $100. Both agencies offer support directly to us as well as the CT environment as a whole. As we have no treasurer, Bill will submit payments, budget permitting, to Robin Roohr.
Bill gave brief overview of CC’s responsibility in monitoring the 19 CE’s yearly. If each commissioner will take 3 parcels, the job can be done in a morning. We will detail monitoring & distribute binders at next meeting.
- Reminder that CC officer elections are in November.

CT Wildlife magazine received and shared.
Donation letters from CACIWC and Ct Land Conservation Council.
Member Forum:
Warren brought concern of Long Pond’s lake association’s responsibility in maintaining their 3 dams.
