Call to Order/Roll Call-First Selectman Murphy called the tri-board meeting to order at 7:00 PM with the following board representatives present:

Governor’s Proposed Municipal Revenue Reductions-The meeting was called to order to see how the town can proceed with the FY 2017-2018 budget preparations.

Latest Information on State Budget Progress-First Selectman Murphy gave an overview of the Senate and House Republicans state budget proposal which would level fund municipal aid

Discuss and decide on two (2) or three (3) municipal revenue scenarios-Two scenarios were presented, the Governor’s and the Republican’s there was no consensus for a third scenario.

Discuss and decide on an acceptable mill rate increase for each scenario- It was noted that in order to collect taxes in July a mill rate must be set. If set too low supplemental
tax bills must be set in January. The Boards reviewed growth of Grand List, questioned what taxpayers will bear, what can be reduced by BOS and BOE. Frustration was expressed by all. Conversation did turn to the school project.

Discuss and decide on percent of budget reductions to be applied to General Government, BOE, and Capital-Not decided.

Task BOS and BOE with preparing a list of reductions based on each scenario

Public Comments- Anthony Palazzolo of Pendleton Hill requested that project be stopped until further data is available.
