The Spiritist Society of North Beach and Abigail Francisco School of Classical Ballet are hosting their second annual 5K Walk-a-Thon to be held in North Beach Maryland on Sep 7, 2013 from 8:00AM to 12:00AM.All proceeds will go towards the purchase of a custom wheel chair for a young girl named Sabrina. Sabrina who at three months was diagnosed with a malformation caused during pregnancy called "Schizencephaly" a form of Cerebral Palsy and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome which causes seizures that are difficult to control.
Sabrina began treatments at an early age; such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, which has improved her condition. However, today Sabrina is 8 years old and cannot walk, has scoliosis which compromises her posture and respiration, wears diapers and is feed via a gastrostomy tube located in her tummy. We hope to raise $7000.00 to be used towards the purchase of this much needed wheel chair. Please fill out the registration form and mail back to us if you are interested in participating.
