On Friday, February 7, 2014, the Town of North Beach will experience an event that occurs only once a century. It’s called Zip Meets Date. The date of 2-07-14 will match the town's zip code of 20714. This rare occurrence will be recognized at a small event at the North Beach Post Office at 11:00 a.m. on February 7, 2014. The public is invited and light refreshments will be provided.
A special pictorial cancellation has been designed by North Beach resident, Steve Kortie. On February 7, you may request that your outgoing mail be cancelled with this special postmark. You may also request this postmark on an unaddressed envelope with appropriate first class postage to keep as a souvenir.
Come out and have something stamped with this special stamp. If you don’t, you’ll have to wait 100 more years!
