NEWTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN

PUBLIC MEETING

  • Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
Chairman Thayer opened the meeting at 5:30pm.  In attendance were Chairman Raymond D. Thayer, Selectman Charles R. Melvin, Sr., Selectman Robert S. Donovan, Jr., Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley and Office Manager Mary B. Winglass.  Minutes were transcribed and typed by Office Manager Winglass.

  • Payroll and Vendor Manifest
The Board first reviewed the payroll and vendor manifest.  The Board asked to invite two department heads into a nonpublic session on August 12th to review payroll hours and documentation.  Town Administrator Wrigley will contact the Fire Department requesting they submit a proposed Vehicle Policy by August 12th to be reviewed that evening in a public meeting.

  • The Board signed the Payroll Manifest for the period of July 14th through July 27th.
  • The Board signed a Vendor Manifest dated July 30th in the amount of $17,158.89
  • The Board signed a Vendor Manifest dated July 30th in the amount of $2,824.55
  • The Board signed a Vendor Manifest dated July 30th in the amount of $1,177,641.40
  • Impact Fee Update
Selectman Melvin motioned to approve the 2013 Newton School Impact Fee using the maximum fee schedule as outlined in the “School Impact Fee Update - 2013” dated May 3, 2013.  Second by Selectman Donovan.  Motion passed with a unanimous vote.

The Board signed a memo to the Planning Board regarding the School Impact Fee Update.
Nonpublic Session

Chairman Thayer motioned at 6:03pm to go into Nonpublic Session under RSA 91-A:3 II (a) - Employee Matters.  Second by Selectman Melvin.  Motion passed with a unanimous roll call vote.

Chairman Thayer motioned to close the nonpublic at 6:14pm.  Per a unanimous roll call vote, the minutes of the meeting will be kept confidential until in the opinion of the majority of the members the circumstances no longer apply.

  • Adjourn
Chairman Thayer closed the public meeting at 6:15pm.
