- Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
Chairman McCarthy called the meeting to order at 5:26pm. In attendance were Chairman Trisha J. McCarthy, Selectman Raymond D. Thayer, Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley and Office Manager Mary B. Winglass. Selectman Lawrence B. Foote was not in attendance for he is away in training in Baltimore, MD.

The Board reviewed the site walk minutes dated May 17, 2011 prepared by Chairman McCarthy.
Selectman Thayer motioned to accept the minutes of the site walk dated May 17, 2011 at the Ferrandi property. Second by Chairman McCarthy. Vote: Unanimous.
- Municipal Resources Re: Professional Services Agreement for junkyard compliance
The Board was sent via email the proposed agreement from Municipal Resources as well as to Chief Building Official Ron LeMere and no one had any issues with the agreement as written. The agreement has an increase of just fewer than 3% for this service for the 2011-2012 year.
Chairman McCarthy motioned to approve the new contract for 2011 – 2012 for the professional service agreement for junkyard compliance between Municipal Resources and the Town of Newton. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.

Appointments
Selectman Thayer motioned to appoint Nancy Slombo as a member of the Conservation Commission with a term to expire on April 15, 2013. Second by Chairman McCarthy. Vote: Unanimous.
Selectman Thayer motioned to appoint Patricia Wonson as a member of the Conservation Commission with a term to expire on April 15, 2012. Second by Chairman McCarthy. Vote: Unanimous.
Selectman Thayer motioned to appoint Sandra Estabrook as a member of the Conservation Commission with a term to expire on April 15, 2013. Second by Chairman McCarthy. Vote: Unanimous.
Chairman McCarthy motioned to appoint Mary Ann Lapierre as a member of the Conservation Commission with a term to expire on April 15, 2014. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
Chairman McCarthy motioned to appoint Sheila Bergeron as a member of the Conservation Commission with a term to expire on April 15, 2014. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
- The Board approved a Welfare Manifest in the amount of $506.50 to Unitil.
- The Board signed a request for time off from Bookkeeper/Payroll Administrator Kimberly Hughes.
- The Board signed a letter to the Department of Revenue Administration in response to their 2010 Assessment review.
- The Board signed the Payroll Manifest dated May 22 – June 4th
- Town Administrator Nancy Wrigley informed the Board that she received a call today from Transfer Station Manager Kevin Jolicoeur asking if there are any guidelines for dealing with extreme heat. Jolicoeur is concerned with the forecast this week with highs in the 90’s. Selectman Thayer offered an old air conditioner that he has which can be used in one of the shacks. The Board discussed the need to keep hydrated and to make sure that water is available on site.
- Town Administrator Wrigley asked the Board to discuss the Recreation’s Revolving Account at their next meeting in order for the Board to make it part of the record on how expenditures are to be handled.
- The Board approved on May 17, 2011 repairs to the Skate Park and Rail Installment but did not sign a requisition for one was not presented with the packet. The payment for the repairs is to come from the Recreation Revolving Account; the Board signed the requisition.
Chairman McCarthy motioned to adjourn at 6:02pm. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
