- Review bid recommendation for “Demolition and removal of an abandoned home and detached structures”
The Board reviewed a recommendation from Chief Building Official Ron LeMere to award the bid to Eastern Seaboard Concrete Construction. Office Manager Winglass informed the Board that Mike Pivero of Eastern Seaboard called the office this afternoon and was in traffic and would not be able to make the meeting. Pivero added that LeMere asked him to put in writing that the bid does not include the removal of any hazardous material nor any environmental issues; Pivero will drop off this letter tomorrow. Pivero stated that he did not see any hazardous materials when he conducted a site walk but he did notice that the pond in the back had a very odd “green” color to it.
Selectman Thayer motioned to award the bid for the demolition and removal of the abandoned home and outbuildings at 74 Smith Corner Road to Eastern Seaboard Concrete Construction per the recommendation of the Building Inspector for the price of $6,800. Second by Chairman Foote. Vote Unanimous.
The Board suggested for Pivero to take pictures before he starts and when he is done for the file. The Board then signed a letter to Eastern Seaboard authorizing the removal of the abandoned home and outbuildings located at 74 Smith Corner Road.
