Chief Building Official Ron LeMere and Transfer Station Manager Kevin Jolicoeur were present. LeMere informed the Board that he spoke with each of the electrical contractors that submitted a quote for the electrical work at the Transfer Station.
LeMere added that the bids did not compare “apples for apples” and based upon the best value he recommends hiring Pat McCusker for a price of $18,000.00 even though he is not the lowest bid. LeMere will set up a meeting on site with McCusker to walk through the steps and coordination with Unitil on this project.
McCarthy talked about contacting the State of NH Department of Revenue regarding emergency funding for this unanticipated emergency repair/upgrade.
Selectman Thayer motioned to accept the bid from Pat McCusker for the emergency electrical work at the Transfer Station. Second by Chairman McCarthy. Vote: Unanimous.
- Announcements
- Other Business, Sign Manifests, Requisitions, Abatements, Tax Credits, Correspondence and Appointments
The Board discussed the Memorial Day Parade with Planning Board Chairman Jim Doggett and Alan French. Per the recommendation of Doggett, McCarthy called Moderator Bob Dezmelyk to inquire if he would be interested in the position of MC (Master of Ceremonies) for the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Dezmelyk accepted the position as MC for the parade/ceremony.
Alan French, member of the Zoning Board of Appeals stated that he contacted the Local Government Center regarding a 10 foot fence installed at 82 North Main Street. The information he obtained from a LGC Staff Attorney is that the neighbor can have a private suit against his neighbor; French added that he may appeal the building department’s decision with the Zoning Board. Chief Building Official Ron LeMere and Assistant Sam Zannini joined the meeting and Zannini explained that there is nothing to appeal in the town’s zoning or in the building code for there is nothing that prohibits this fence. The State Statutes (RSA’s) do address spite fences which would be addressed in the court system.
Chairman McCarthy motioned to adjourn at 7:27pm. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
Respectfully Submitted,
Mary B. Winglass, Office Manager
