SELECTMEN’S PUBLIC MEETING

May 10, 2010


  • Call to Order
Selectman Thayer opened the meeting at 6:01pm.  In attendance were Selectman Raymond D. Thayer, Selectman Robert S. Donovan, Jr., Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley and Office Manager Mary B. Winglass.  Minutes were transcribed and typed by Office Manager Winglass.

Chairman Trisha J. McCarthy was not in attendance.

Selectman Donovan motioned to sign the Payroll Manifest for the period of April 25, 2010 to May 8, 2010.  Second by Selectman Thayer.  Vote: Unanimous.

Selectman Thayer motioned to approve the purchase, per a requisition submitted by the Fire Chief for the preventative maintenance and repairs to S.C.B.A.’s and Halmotro tools from Industrial Protection Supply for a price of $1,500 +.  Second by Selectman Donovan.  Discussion: Selectman Donovan stated that he would need an actual dollar amount for this purchase before approving and signing the requisition.  Vote:  Selectman Thayer and Selectman Donovan – opposed.  Motion failed.

Selectman Donovan motioned to approve a Welfare Manifest in the amount of $50.55 to Unitil.  Second by Selectman Thayer.  Vote: Unanimous.

The Board signed a letter to Merrimac Savings Bank to open a municipal checking account for the Fire Department Ambulance Services Revolving Fund.

The Board signed a deed waiver for the following properties; 25 West Main Street, 6 Elm Street and 20 Merrimac Road.

The Board signed three agreements to forebear recording tax deeds pursuant to RSA 80:76 to allow the following property owners per their request and promise to make certain timely payments paying all taxes, interest due through the receipt of the final payment and cost within a year’s time; 25 West Main Street, 6 Elm Street and 20 Merrimac Road.

Town Administrator Nancy Wrigley asked the Board if they would like to meet again this week before tax deeding 74 Smith Corner Road for the office received a letter today from the daughter of the deceased property owner.  Wrigley added that she forwarded the letter to Town Counsel for his review and comment.  The Board decided to schedule a meeting on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 6pm.

Selectman Donovan motioned to close the meeting at 6:14pm.  Second by Selectman Thayer.  Vote: Unanimous.
