SELECTMEN’S PUBLIC MEETING
February 23, 2009
I. Call to Order
Chairman Donovan called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm. ~In attendance were Chairman Robert S. Donovan, Jr., Selectman Raymond D. Thayer and Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley. Selectman Trisha J. McCarthy was unavailable for this meeting. ~The meeting was audio taped; minutes were transcribed and typed by Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley.

· (2) Appointments - Deputy Director of Emergency Management
In attendance were:~Lawrence Foote Emergency Management Director, Michael T. Giordano and John A. Walsh. Mr. Foote requested that the Board of Selectmen appoint Mr. Giordano and Mr. Walsh as Deputy Emergency Management Directors for a one year term effective immediately through April 15, 2010. He asked if the Board Members had any questions of them. The Board did not have questions.
Chairman Donovan made a motion under the recommendation of the Emergency Management Director Larry Foote, to appoint Michael T. Giordano as a Deputy Director of Emergency Management with the expiration date of midnight on the 15th day of April 2010. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
Chairman Donovan made a motion under the recommendation of Emergency Management Director Larry Foote to accept John A. Walsh as Deputy Director of Emergency Management with the expiration date of midnight on the 15th day of April 2010. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
Chairman Donovan stated they need to see Town Clerk Mary Jo McCullough in order to get sworn in.
V. Announcements
Chairman Donovan announced that voting is on March 10, 2009 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm in the gymnasium of the Memorial School in Newton Junction.

Chairman Donovan made a motion to close the public meeting at 7:06 pm. Second by Selectman Thayer. Vote: Unanimous.
