Selectmen’s Site Walk Minutes

The Newton Board of Selectmen performed an inspection of Webster Road on Saturday December 23, 2006 to investigate the concern of Mr. Jay Pramberg of 5 Webster Road regarding the condition of Webster Rd. In attendance were Gary Nelson, Chairman, Selectman John Ulcickas, Selectman Robert Donovan Jr., and Road Agent Frank Gibbs.
Mr. Gibbs pointed out recent repairs to Webster Road due to the concerns of Mr. Pramberg that the road has never been paved. The road condition looked like just a tar based topcoat had been applied to it many years ago. There was some discussion about the condition of the road and how to best address it in the spring as well as budgeting for this road and/or a warrant article to request funding for paving, if needed. There was a discussion about the amount of use of the road in relation to other more heavily traveled roads that are also in disrepair and what would take precedence. Mr. Gibbs stated that he planned to repair the culvert at the beginning of Webster Road in the spring but the winter would only allow him to patch the road for now.
