Chairman Pauline Dupuis motioned to accept the Recreation Minutes dated June 8, 2011 as written. Seconded by Matt Muskrat. Vote: Unanimous
Man with dog at Park:
Chairman Dupuis saw a resident down at the large (Komac) field with his dogs. He was letting them run free and eliminate in the field. Chairman Dupuis contacted Chief Streeter who approached the gentleman and explained there is an RSA which prohibits animals on town property. M. Muskrat suggested that a sign be made up stating “NO PETS ALLOWED”. The board will research this and possibly get the Selectmen to approve from the General Budget.
Right to Know on Public Meetings:
Trish McCarthy sent out a memo regarding a “Right to Know on Public Meetings” and how to conduct them. This memo was discussed among our board and if any questions arise, they will be forwarded to Trish McCarthy for answers.
Swim Lessons/Craft Program/Swim Uniforms
Discussion about the lifeguard’s Swim Uniforms. Mention was made that a previous motion was made about not purchasing jackets for the guards this year. There was no motion made--Secretary DiMercurio reread past minutes and found nothing – Secretary DiMercurio presented the board with a suggested order for our beach guards.
Tom Hansen motioned to purchase all respective swim staff gear (not to exceed $250.00) which will include swimsuits, sweatshirt, and visors with the stipulation that if the guard returns to the beach next year they will need to reuse these items. Chairman Dupuis Seconded. Vote: Unanimous Motion Passed
Lisa Babcock has been assigned the swim coordinator position and will be making up swim rules to be posted at the beach as well as coming up with the curriculum for swim lessons and child craft projects. Recreation discussed increasing the cost of these lessons by $5.00 but has kept the family cap as it was last year.
S. DiMercurio made a motion to increase the cost of the 2011 swim lessons to $55.00 per child (residents) with a family cap of $140.00 and to $65.00 per child (non-resident) with a family cap of $160.00. M. Muskrat seconded. Vote: Unanimous Motion Passed.
Lisa Babcock has also asked about the raft and bringing it down to the beach. Secretary DiMercurio will email the road agent and ask if his crew can bring it down and put it in the water.
S. DiMercurio made a motion to ask the road agent if his crew could bring out the raft to the beach on June 26th, and if they are unable to put in the water, can they suggest any alternatives. Tom Hansen seconded. Vote: Unanimous Motion passed
Lisa Babcock and Trish McCarthy will be setting up and conducting a false drowning with the current swim staff. We will also be looking into getting a defibulator from Selectmen Larry Foote for the beach shed.
Summer ideas for kids:
S. DiMercurio made suggestions for the following ideas for the resident children.

IV: OTHER BUSINESS
Secretary DiMercurio presented two phone calls to the board for approval
- Someone wants to rent the beach for a 1 year olds birthday party. Possibly charging for this depending on how many people will be attending.
- Someone called to find out if they can use their own grills at the beach. Discussion about this has determined that they can use their own as long as it is placed on top of the existing one.
