NEW BUSINESS:
- Dave Marden and the barrels at Greenie Park
Tabled as no decision can be made until the contract has been gone through and updated.
- Renew Membership to New Hampshire Recreation and Parks Assoc.
Matt Muskratt to handle looking into the fees for the year. If we join we may be able to obtain grant money from the state to revamp the play area at Greenie Park
- Discussion on Playground Equipment at Greenie Park.
It’s a Liability ….looking into grants to obtain new equipment
- Looking into “Child Scape” (a playground design company) to give bid on new playground
Matt Muskratt to contact a Bill Eckhart of Child Scape and ask him to come to meeting and talk. He will also look up other local companies who may do the same thing….
Motion made by Pauline Dupris to have Bill Eckhart come out and talk to us regarding the playground and its equipment. Matt Muskratt Seconded …Motion Passed Unanimously
- Future trips for townspeople
Discussion on how to let townspeople know about these trips. Some suggestions mentioned were:
Flyers
Advertising in Carriage Towne News/Eagle Tribune
Postcards to persons who attended past trips
A decision was made to place flyers in the local post offices and in local businesses as well as writing a letter to the editor of The Carriage Towne News for publication.
- Suggestions on Trips for April and May, 2011
Pauline Dupris has suggested that on April 13, 2011 we have our first trip to the AGASSIZ MUSEUM at Harvard University followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant (Upstairs on the Square) as it is a very affordable trip…All Townspeople are welcome to attend
Motion made by Matt Muskratt to have this trip be our first of the season…Seconded by Susan DiMercurio Motion carried and passed unanimously
Pauline Dupris has also suggested a trip for May 15, 2011 to the Portsmouth Music Hall –Momix Botanica with dinner following.
Motion made by Susan DiMercurio to have this be our next trip of the season—seconded by Ray Thayer motion carried and was passed unanimously
- Discussion on Little League and Baseball for 2011 and improvements needed. Ray Thayer voiced that Baseball and Recreation should work hand in hand. Further discussion on issues at Baseball Fields ensued…Tabled until next meeting.
- Ray Thayer suggested not to have a dumpster at Town Beach. All trash should be carried in and out…Dumpster to be replaced by trash barrels and picked up by Dave Marden. Motion made by Ray Thayer which Pauline Dupris seconded..Motion carried and was passed unanimously
