TREASURER’S REPORT:     Carol   explained several revisions in the report’s format.  The possible need for a special trustee meeting, should the town vote a default budget, was raised. A 7:00p.m. meeting on March 19, 2009 was agreed upon if needed. The report was accepted as written.

COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDANCE: A bulletin was received from the state library association.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:     All three trustees attended the public hearing review on warrant article #2.  Carol brought records for the past 5 years explaining the revenues from faxing and copying.
NEW BUSINESS:   The new Gale Library Weather Closing policy was reviewed and signed. It will be published on the town website, placed on the library’s bulletin board, and sent to the Newton schools.
The dumpster has been moved back to its original location optimizing the parking as well as making the trash pickup easier for the trucks.
Myra Suraci dropped by the library with a sketch of the mural she has kindly offered to paint in the children’s room.  The painting will be of a tree with some children’s character around it.  The supplies would cost about $100. Myra is donating her time to paint this mural. A motion was made to have Myra paint the mural at her convenience.  It was seconded and accepted.
Bill Landry volunteered to make some picture ID badges that could be used for the library staff.

He has made some for the town hall staff. Marilyn brought in samples.  It was decided that the picture badges would be a good idea for the library staff.  Everyone was reminded of the upcoming bake sale to be held on voting day.

Kathy Meserve brought in an article, taken from the Eagle Tribune, explaining how various libraries have incorporated the wii program into their libraries.  It was also noted that Channel 9 ran a segment on this topic as well. We began a discussion on what parameters would be needed for this program to be successful in our library. Terry said she will gather information from other libraries that have already been using the wii program. Wii programming and policies will be addressed during our April meeting.
Terry broached the subject of clear rigid Plexiglas panels that can be
placed on any unused windows. Their purpose is to conserve heat loss.
No decision was reached on this subject.
