CABLE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
DATE: June 23, 2010
PLACE: Town Meeting Hall
TIME: 5:30p.m.
CALL TO ORDER: 5:40pm
Roll Call: Diane Morin, Chairman; Mary Winglass, Public Relations/Programmer, Sally Woodman, Secretary;
Sue Godin, operator/cable member
Minutes from Previous Meeting of June 9, 2010:
A motion was made by Sue and seconded by Mary W to accept the minutes as read. This was passed unanimously.
Correspondence and Communications:
- The Planning Board has requested that the microfiche be moved from their room to the cable room. The Cable Committee will get back to this request in the fall.
Upcoming Events:
- A Regional Selectman’s meeting will be held Tuesday, the 29th at 7:00pm in the Town Hall.
Unfinished Business:
- Mary M left a sample of material for the table cloths. Everyone approved the use of the material which will be used to add a skirt to the present tablecloths. Diane will let Mary M know of the decision to use the cloth.
- Tom’s demonstration has been postponed.
- A motion was made, seconded, and passed to order two parts totaling $49.93 from Spartan Photo Center/Tripod Quick Release/Bogen Tripod Parts.
- The speakers will be tested at a later date when the temperature is not as high.
- The committee reviewed the NCAT 20 Cable Committee by-laws. We went through the by-laws and added, deleted and changed what we felt to be in the best interest of the Newton Cable Station. Mary W will type out a draft for our next meeting. Meanwhile, Sally will check into the NH Coalition for Community Media. If we decide to join the Coalition Sue and Sally will attend meetings whenever possible.
New Business:
- Sue will contact someone who has indicated an interest in becoming a cable operator.
- Diane asked if Mary W had received a copy of a cooking show she had requested. Mary W said she has not received it. Diane will request that another be sent.
- The board reviewed the expenditures to date.
