Minutes of Transfer Station Committee -- September 25, 2003 5p.m.
In Attendance: Steve Maddock, Simon Carr
1. It appears from an initial study of the Solid Waste Rules that, once we have a suitable site and layout, we can apply for a permit-by-notification which requires no fee and is designed for small public facilities. Simon will do a fuller presentation at the next meeting.
2. As there are cost implications on any changes to the transfer station we should investigate the Budget committee’s opinion.
3. The alternative sites away from the Town Garage were considered. The most likely contender is Jimmy Jenks’ sand pit.
4. Future meetings: unless otherwise notified, meetings will be each Thursday 5.00p.m. at the Town offices. Next meeting: October 2nd
