MINUTES
May 16, 2005
Present: Frank Bowles, Matt Brown, Tina Cullenberg, Tom Hunton, Denis Kelemen, Claudia Kern, Carola Lea, Sue MacKenzie, John Stadler
A tour of Town Garage preceded the meeting.
Minutes of the April meeting were approved by email.
Old Business:
Town Energy Audit- Firehouse, etc. Update from Tom
· Obvious gaping holes noted
· Fan- seems to be overkill for requirement
· Tom to get town data on annual oil consumption
· LEC to create list of recommendations for Selectboard. Matt, Tom and John to stop in and determine prioritized list before June meeting
· Claudia to ask Pete about life expectancy of building
· Tom to obtain copy of Estes proposal for fire house
Lighting at Town Garage- discussed following tour of garage
· Pete Bleyler has discussed tightening up of light use with crew
· Frank volunteered to address lighting, ventilation, etc. in June, also to look into financial resources available from PSNH for retrofitting
Wind at Lyme School- Denis
· Previews of the wind project reviewed with hand out for class
· Consider placing model at Nichol’s with sign: “Lyme Energy Committee” OR use model for another of six school OR use it for every 6th grade
· Hope to move instrumentation to skiway or the easiest place to put windmill
New Business:
SERG Town Energy Committee Membership
· $200 should not be a barrier according to Bob Walker
· Use of the Blower door would be significant
· Home Energy Use Evaluation costs $50/hr to run test
o How to make it affordable for those most in need
o Consider other sources such as Pearl Dimick Fund Grant
