D. ~COMMITTEE REPORTS/PRESENTATIONS/PROCLAMATIONS
1.  Mr. Sam Sullivan, Alachua County Solid Waste- gave an update on debris recovery in Hawthorne.  If all goes well it should begin in Hawthorne within the next 14 days.

2.  Presentations Newberry High School Student Government Project – Mayor Jordan Marlowe
The students from NHS gave a presentation called “RepresentMe” on proposed amendments to the Alachua County Home Rule Charter.

3.  Proclamation- National Hospice Palliative Care Month
Mayor Surrency read the proclamation on behalf of the City of Hawthorne City Commission.

J. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause gave her City Manager’s report
2. City Attorney Hoehn- Final Ethics class of 2017 is December 14, 2017 at the Alachua County Administrative Building 1PM-5PM.
3. City Commission

Commissioner Bouie- No report
Vice Mayor Howard- The attorney name that did the last Ethics in Alachua was Mr. Pete Sweeney.
4. Mayor Surrency- Ice cream social at HMHS for the kids that made the A/B honor roll is this Thursday during the two lunch periods.  Volunteers needed to help serve the kids.  Need 25 mentors at HMHS Monday-Friday for 1 hour a week.  November 10 the American Legion is putting out flags at the cemetery and volunteers are needed.  November 18 Historical Marker is being placed in front of the Hawthorne Apartments in honor of Mr. Richard Moore.
