D. ~COMMITTEE REPORTS/PRESENTATIONS/PROCLAMATIONS
1.  Presentation- Alachua County Environmental Protection
Mr. Gus Olmos gave a presentation on the Irrigation Ordinance from Alachua County.
2.  Proclamation- Chester Shell Day
Mayor Surrency read the proclamation making the last Thursday in June Chester Shell Day.
3.  Citizen of the Month
The City Commission presented the Hawthorne Homecoming Committee as the citizens of the month.  Mr. Lewis Scott, Chair of the Committee thanked the City Commission and City Staff for the continued support.

E. ~CITIZEN COMMENTS
Mr. Harold Martin- Have several people using the city park on Hwy 301 and is asking the city to get sanitized soap dispensers for the park bathrooms.
Ms. Beverly Shelley- City need to put a fence between the playground area and the high weeds and water.  Also the pavilions leak very bad and need to be fixed.
Mr. Leonard Jones- curbs at City Park should be moved because cars pull up close and the cars get hooked and when people try to back up it mess up the bumpers on people cars.

2.  ACBOCC proposed Alachua County Irrigation Efficiency Code
City Manager Vause stated staff is seeking direction on the proposed Alachua County Irrigation Efficiently Code for irrigation.
The City Commission decided to take no action.

3.  Renewal of authorization allowing Alachua County Solid Waste Management Assessment
City Manager Vause stated staff is seeking direction on the renewal of the City of Hawthorne’s authorization allowing the Alachua County solid waste management assessment within the City.
Moved to approve the renewal and instruct staff to prepare an ordinance for consent for the entire corporate limits of Hawthorne to be included in a non-ad valorem assessment for municipal service provision of solid waste management cost.

1. City Manager Vause gave an update on things happening within the City of Hawthorne.

Vice Mayor Howard- It would be nice if each Commissioner have the same signs they use in the parades.  Some have different colors.  Really like the signs the Mayor and Commissioner Floyd has.
4. Mayor Surrency- If anyone is hiring a tree surgeon please make sure he has insurance and also get more than one quote.  Older people are getting charge to much money especially since the storm came though.  Mayor Surrency also gave an update on Shell Elementary new school programs.
