Mr. Wally Russell- The flag in front of City Hall needs to be replaced and properly lit at night.

G.      PUBLIC HEARING
SECOND READING-
A.  Ordinance to establish a temporary zoning moratorium on marijuana dispensaries/processing/growing centers
Mr. Alex Patton, Pause- Some cities have challenged the 12 month period in the moratorium and have chosen to do 6 months instead.
Discussion on the length of the moratorium
Moved to approve the Ordinance establishing a temporary zoning moratorium on 2nd reading from 12 months to 6 months with the option to renew at the end of 6 months.
Motion- Vice Mayor Howard               Second- Commissioner Bouie
City Attorney Hoehn read the ordinance by title only with the change stating 6 months instead of 12 months.

J. ~REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
1. City Manager Vause- gave her updates on city business
2. City Attorney Hoehn- Reminded the City Commission that their statement of financial interest is due by July 1 but is not considered late until August.
3. City Commission
Commissioner Roberts- Learned through the Regional Planning meeting that some cities provide retirement for City Commissioners and ask staff to look into how that works.
Commissioner Floyd- None
Commissioner Bouie- None
Vice Mayor Howard- None
4. Mayor Surrency- Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Stallings they are doing a great job at the Hawthorne Museum.  Hawthorne Homecoming was a success and Chamber Bowling is July 25, 2015
