E.  CITIZEN COMMENTS
Ms. Memree Stuart- Will be retiring from the Library the end of this month to take care of her elderly mother.
The City Commission thanked Ms. Stuart for her dedication to the City of Hawthorne.
Ms. Nikki Hutchinson & Guest- would like to put a dance studio in the old Dr. Office.
The City Commission and Staff explained the current situation with the property in question.

3.  Surplus Chairs
City Manager Vause- found surplus chairs at $10 each for the auditorium.  There are 78 chairs and we have to take all 78.  Most are in fairly good condition.  New chairs run $109 each.

G.  PUBLIC HEARING
1.  SECOND READING
Purchase of Property by FDOT for SR 20 expansion
City Manager Vause-FCT has agreed to allow the city to use 13.436 acres of LOCNP for SR 20 expansion.  FDOT will pay the city $79,800.00 and the city will reimburse FCT $39,800.00.

H.  DISCUSSION
1.  Water Line Replacement
City Manager Vause- A workshop was held today on line replacement in sections of the town and Staff seeks direction on the water line replacement project.
City Commission directed staff to draft a Resolution to apply for the $100K pre-construction loan.

I.  CITIZEN COMMENTS- None

J.  REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS/INFORMATION
City Manager Vause- update on Brownfield Assessment Grant, FLC, HLEC, LOCNP, Park and Recreation Director, American Legion, Joint Meeting with ACBOCC, Fire Station, Broken water line, and staff.

City Attorney Hoehn- Gave update on Fire Station dispute about the fence on the property line.

Commissioner Roberts- January 9 meeting in Starke was very interesting.

Commissioner Bouie- Congrats to Ms. Libby Hartwell on being the new principal at Hawthorne Middle High School.

Vice Mayor Howard- None

Commissioner Carlton- None

Mayor Surrency- Ask City Manager to look into course for Elected Officials, gave update on SFC classes at HMHS, Ms. Libby Hartwell is the new principal at HMHS and Shell Elementary.  She will be based at HMHS.  Alachua County League of Cities and Alachua County Commission is trying to do twice per year meetings.  1st week in April is Florida League Legislative Days.  City Manager Vause is the new Chamber Secretary.
