1. Dr. Owen Roberts, Alachua County Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Roberts introduced himself and assured the citizens he is here to partner with the school and the city. He has a great vision on how he will elevate the schools in Hawthorne.

H. FIRST PUBLIC HEARING CDBG ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
1. Power Point Presentation on CDBG Program
Fred Fox Enterprise gave a presentation for the 2013 CDBG application process to help run water lines and build a water storage tank to service the future Loves Travel Center.
2. Open the Public Hearing for CDBG Economic Development Grant
Mayor Surrency open the Public Hearing to allow other businesses who want to be considered for CDBG Economic Development Grant Funding to come forward. No other businesses came forward.
3. Make announcement
Mr. Sheppard, Loves Travel Center representative asked the City to attempt to get this grant because right now the city’s water system is not efficient enough to service their station if it comes to Hawthorne.
4. Close the Public Hearing
Mayor Surrency closed the Public Hearing
5. CDBG Economic Development application
Moved to authorize staff to work with the Participating Party businesses, the project Engineers and grant writer to develop a CDBG Economic Development application to provide for the construction of public infrastructure required for the development of the Loves Travel Center and McDonalds development project.

6. Appoint or Reappoint the CDBG Citizen Advisory Task Force
The Citizen Advisory Task members are: Mr. Harry Carter, Mr. Tim Webb, Ms. Cheryl Elmore, Ms. Ann Hadley, and Mr. Eugene Herring. Alternate Mr. Larry Tilbury.
Moved to reappoint the CDBG Citizen Advisory Task Force and appoint the new members.

1. City Manager Vause gave an update on City Hall flooding, FRDAP Grant, Planning Grant, Water Line replacement project, Water line issues, dumpster at Hawthorne Athletic Park, Intern, Server and Flooring.

Commissioner Roberts- Thank you to everyone that came out with the Super Seniors.
Commissioner Carlton- Thank you to his wife for inviting people to come out to welcome the Superintendent for Alachua County Schools.
Commissioner Bouie- Thank you to everyone that came out tonight.
Vice Mayor Howard- Thank you to everyone that came out tonight and asked the City Manager to have staff weed eat around the playground equipment at the Lindsey Phillips Park.
4. Mayor Surrency- League of Cities forum in Archer September 15, 2014 @ 6PM. Now excepting applications for the Transportation Oversight Committee. Please see himself of City Manager Vause. Had a great turnout for the Plum Creek meeting at the High School.
