Affordable Housing Trust
Minutes (approved 10-Mar-10)

Attendance: Charles (Chas) Waters; David Surface; Phil Trapani; Tim Gerraughty
Guest: None
Phil requested that future meeting notification be done using outlook calendar (setting private) for ease of scheduling and everyone agreed.
Discussion took place around going to Annual Town Meeting and asking for funding prior to having a housing needs plan in place and having adequate answers to questions that will likely be asked.
It was determined to ask the CPC for two warrant articles
- $35K for a Housing Needs plan
- $100K as seed money to start the trust
A brief overview was given regarding Affordable housing and the process of approval (CHAPA’s role in qualifying applicants).
Chas distributed an outline of the purpose of the Trust, member’s backgrounds and examples of what the Trust can do.
Davis Surface made a motion to accept the minutes of 6-Jan-10 (Tim G 2nd) Vote 3-0-1 (Phil Abstained).
Next meeting will be a joint meeting with CPC 9-Feb-10. The following monthly meeting will be 10-Mar-10.
Action Items:
- Everyone to come up with 2 proposed plans of action that the Trust could act upon in lieu of having a Housing Plan in place.
- Chas to contact Paul Nelson to find out what property in the past needed quick action and couldn’t wait for Town meeting.
- Tim G to post joint meeting with CPC (9-Feb-10) and next meeting.
- David to follow up with DHCD regarding Poulte properties.
- Phil to find out how many full time GTWN employees live in town.
- Everyone is to forward a brief overview of their work and Georgetown board experience to Chas so he can update his Town meeting handout.
David S. made a motion to adjourn 8:43pm (Phil 2nd) Vote 4-0 in favor.
