Cemetery Commission
September 22, 2011, 9am
Present: Bob Abbott, Ethel MacStubbs
John A. Peters, #249 issue discussed:
John Fredrick Peters, Jr. (Fred) called EM 8-24 inquiring as to what our records indicated for burials and whom. According to our records #1, 2, 4, 5, & 6 are taken. When BA and Kaufold probed the lot they thought there were some burials all the way across. The lot should be probed again if the #3 space is desired for burial.
EM will call Fred Peters with our findings.
We feel the need to tighten up our minute taking process. From now on the minutes from the meeting will be reviewed by the trustees before leaving the meeting. A final draft will be ideally completed within 24 hours and sent electronically or hand delivered to Deb at the Town Offices.
A vote was taken on the disbursement of funds to pay Our Town Landscaping for the pear trees planted in #3. BA and EM vote to pay from the General Maintenance Fund.
EM will take the voucher to HHK today and call Gordon at OTL to let him know the check is in process.
BA took care of the big limb that came down in increments over the summer with
Hurricane Irene completing the job. Wood was trucked to the Town woodshed.
BA and EM plan to meet next week to do the cross checking on our computer work.
Clarification around Couturier headstone: Due to circumstance beyond control of the Trustees, the headstone was placed partially in the isle per Trustee’s authorization.
We will hold off sending the French lot deed until legal counsel clarifies the issue.
The stone wall at #3 was fixed by BA and John Arnold.
