Board of Selectmen Minutes 08/01/2011
Francestown Board of Selectmen

Proposed Minutes 8/01/11

Meeting called to order at 6.34, Arnold & Hardwick present, constituting a quorum.  Carbee arrived shortly after.

Library:  Mike Petrovich reported that there is still a drainage issue at the library.   Henry Kunhardt, who was also present, previously installed a small drainage basin with an outflow pipe between the two buildings.  This apparently improved the situation but did not cure it.  Mike suggested that the area in front be dug out and a waterproof membrane be installed to fix the problem. He will obtain estimates and get back to the board.

Dave Bodnar:  Requested permission to ride his All Terrain Vehicle on specific town roads.  After he clearly demonstrated to the Board that he was aware of related laws and agreed to act responsiblythe board agreed to grant  him written permission to ride on those roads between May 15 and December15.  It was also stated that if there were any problems that approval could be revoked.  Hardwick will prepare a letter.

East Road Timber Trespass:  A 3.74 acre lot recently acquired by the town through tax deed has been investigated by the DRA forester.  He will be back on Friday with the State Forest Ranger.  Carbee will try to meet with them when they come.

General Business:

The town clock repairman found some additional problems with the clock that will add more expense to his original estimate.  He would like to train someone in how to properly maintain the clock.  Need to coordinate that and find a key; Carbee will look into it.

Hardwick has documents from town counsel related to the Campbell Hill Road/Giza situation, these will be signed and mailed back to counsel.
