Councilor Anderson to introduce a zoning amendment to accommodate the construction by Casco Bay Hockey Association of a covered ice rink, locker rooms and bathrooms at Village Park.

A public comment period will not be included with this item.

ACTION: Schedule Public Hearing.

Summary:

The Town Council has agreed to accommodate the construction of a covered ice rink with locker rooms and bathrooms at Village Park. This project requires some relaxation of zoning, including the need for site plan review by the Planning Board and some provisions in the VC1 district. Please find attached an introduction letter and the submittal by Casco Bay Hockey Association. Staff have not reviewed the proposal at this time. Casco Bay Hockey Association will give a short presentation at the beginning of this item.
