The Town and the Falmouth Memorial Library (FML) reached an agreement, through what is referred to as the 1994 Affiliation Agreement, on matters related to financial partnerships, governance and other matters. The Town Council liaison to the FML, Karen Farber, and Councilor Sean Mahoney along with the town manager have developed an updated agreement titled Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with representatives of FML, including its president, Mark Porada.
This update incorporates much of the language and intent contained in the 1994 agreement, some draft language that was conteplated when a library relocation was considered in 2011 (to the Plummer elementary school building) and new language that addresses dissolution and governance.
The attached "red-lined" version of the update includes changes in a draft that was available for inspection this fall. The updated language also reflects changes suggested by the Town Attorney. A copy of the 1994 agreement is also attached. |
