The CDC began its review work of the 2005 Route One Study five years ago at the request of the Town Council. Subsequently the CDC was tasked with developing a plan for the transformation of the Route One business area to a village center with a focus on increased density and mixed use. This zoning amendment is the result of 2 years of work by the CDC to develop the zoning. It is designed to work in conjunction with the Route One South Infrastructure Plan, also developed by the Committee.
At its May 7, 2013, meeting the Planning Board, acting as the Town’s designated Municipal Reviewing Authority, held a public hearing on the proposed amendments. A memo detailing comments made at that meeting is attached.
