Code Enforcement Officer Justin Brown recommends amending Section 6 to allow detached accessory structures to be treated identical to attached accessory structures. The current ordinance allows attached structures when a lot or structure is nonconforming but does not allow a detached structure. It is also suggested that tear down/rebuilds of structures should be treated the same as expansions and enlargements.
On April 2, 2013, the Planning Board, in their capacity as the Town's designated Municipal Reviewing Authority, held a public hearing on the amendment. A memo from Senior Planner Ethan Croce detailing the results of that meeting are attached.
