Subject:
Order to authorize the Town Manager to commence the sale process  for the Pleasant Hill Fire Station property for private re-use using the single-date Call For Offers process.

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.
Summary:
On January 11, 2010 the Council voted 7-0 to close the Pleasant Hill Fire Station. The Community Facilities Planning Committee recommended that this building be sold for private re-use.

The Council appears to be in general agreement with this recommendation, but has not made a formal decision to sell the building.

Attached are:
  • an excerpt from the code of ordinances regarding the disposition of surplus property (code section 16-43);
  • an excerpt from the Town Charter (Sec 204.12); and
  • a draft order to start the disposition process for the Pleasant Hill Fire Station.
The Town Manager interviewed three commercial real estate brokers and retained the services of CBRE The Boulos Company.

Also attached is letter from Craig Young of CBRE The Boulos Company to the Town Manager with a proposed scope of services, dated December 2, 2010, plus an exclusive right to sell agreement.
