Item 1 Discussion of upcoming ecomaine luncheon
The ecomaine luncheon will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at ecomaine on Blueberry Rd in Portland. The committee will be receiving an award at the luncheon. Tours of the single-stream recycling facility, trash disposal facility and ash land fill will take place. The event begins at 10:00 AM and ends at 1:00 PM.
Item 2 Discussion of status of Recycling Committee and Council’s work on volunteer committee’s
The Recycling Committee will not be merging with the Energy Committee. The Recycling Committee will remain as a stand alone committee.
The Town Council is looking for ways to ‘reign in’ committee’s and the amount of effort required to manage them. The proposals include: a clear mission statement for each committee; a work plan for each committee; a standard format for meeting minutes.
Item 3 Election of officers
The following officers were elected to server one year terms by a majority vote:

Item 4 Discussion of encouraging recycling among Falmouth businesses
A local restaurant owner received a letter from a customer expressing disappointment with the lack of recycling at the restaurant. The Recycling Committee will consider ways to increase recycling among Falmouth businesses during the development of the business plan (April meeting).
Item 5 Agenda for April Recycling Committee meeting
At the April meeting the mission statement will be developed. Members are encouraged to share ideas for a mission statement via e-mail prior to the meeting. Attempts will be made to locate any prior mission statements.
If time allows development of a work plan will begin.
The next Recycling Committee meeting will be Monday, April 14, 2007 at 5:00 PM at Falmouth Public Works.
