The meeting opened at 5:01
In attendance: Chair Tony Payne, Councilor Fred Chase, Councilor Chris Orestis, and Town Clerk Ellen Planer
The Committee interviewed Mr. Stephen Decrosta for a position on the Conservation Commission and the Shellfish Conservation Commission. Mr. Decrosta was given the names of the chairs for both committees and told they would be contacting him.
Mr. John Haley expressed an interest in joining the team on the Recycle and Energy Advisory Committee.
The Committee met with Mr. Jay Chace concerning the opening the Planning Board as an alternate member. The committee explained that his contact information would be given to the chair and he would be contacting him shortly.
Mr. David Skillin explained that Councilor Fred Chase encouraged him to volunteer for the Shellfish Conservation Commission. Chair Payne informed Mr. Skillin that there were two vacancies on the Shellfish Conservation Commission.
Mr. Jason Ronco declared his interest in the Recycling and Energy Advisory Committee and stated he had already attended several meetings.
Mr. William Benzing informed the Committee that he became interested in the Planning Board when we had to appear before South Portland Planning Board. The committee explained that his contact information would be given to the chair and he would be contacting him shortly.
The Committee discussed the candidates and the current board and committee vacancies and unanimously decided at make the following recommendations at the March 26, 2012 Council Meeting.
Conservation Commission- Stephen Decrosta
Planning Board – Walter Arsenault (regular member)
Recycling and Energy Advisory Committee- John Haley & Jason Ronco
Shellfish Conservation Committee – Stephen Decrosta & David Skillin
Falmouth Economic Improvement Committee – Phil Bixby
