DUXBURY HISTORICAL COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
Date: January 15, 2004
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Inspectional Services Offfice, Town Hall
Present: Nicki Kispert, Jody Hall, Martha Himes, Susanna Sheehan.
Call to Order: 7:07PM
Reading of Minutes: Reading of October minutes postponed until next meeting. November minutes moved and accepted with corrections.. Ms. Kispert moved the minutes of the December 15, 2003 meeting be approved as read. Ms. Hall seconded. Motion carried 3 in favor, one abstention.
Open Forum: Ms. Kispert and Ms. Himes were invited to the Alden Kindred meeting regarding “National Landmark” Status of the Alden Homestead site on February 9.
New Demolition Application: 661 Washington St. application was resubmitted. It is non-contributing to the Old Shipbuilders National Historic District. A walk through will be scheduled for January 29th at 3:00PM/
Miscellaneous: Discussion of proposed historic commission policies. We need to find out at what point Mr. MacDonald deems it necessary to ask for a demolition application. Ms. Kispert will revisit her conversation with Mr. MacDonald. A memo will be drafted and emailed to Mr. Longo requesting any information he has on a response from Town Council regarding the proposed policies.
Prospective Members: In order to fill spaces open by retiring members, Ms. Sheehan will place an article in the Duxbury Clipper requesting those interested to fill out Talent Bank Forms at Town Hall. Ms. Kispert will ask Ms. Bennett to call existing Talent Bank Applicants to verify their continued interest.
Wright Library: Work on the Inventory Form is not complete. Final editorial changes will be made and it will be delivered to MHC.
