DUXBURY BAY MANAGEMENT COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes of December 22, 2005
In attendance: John Carnuccio (Chair), Shawn Dahlen, Kathy Ahern Gould, Jack Kent, Ned Lawson, Jon Nash (Secretary), Julie Waltz
Absent: Skip Bennett, Don Gunster, Don Beers (Ex Officio)

1. Minutes of 12/08 approved.
2. Conservation Commission Update
1. Clifford Pier, Water Street. Messrs. Lawson & Dahlen recused themselves. After presentation by Brogna, members continued active discussion.
PROPOSED: (Julie Waltz) A written review to the ConCom stating “The DBMC does not see concerns with the proposal in relation to the mission o fthe DBMC, and would like to insure that safety issues relative to state and local laws are considered thoroughly”
VOTED: (Carnuccio) Motion & APPROVED
3. Fish Ladder Project
Jon McGrath reported on the fish ladder project.
Working to secure access, change to a modular construction
Applied for more grants, should have about $70,000 in place.
Need to add in debris management plan, as well as consider RR culvert.
$35k more from CPC, bids to be ready by January 2006.
Project needs to be coordinated with the Route 3A reconstruction.
John Carnuccio added that Robert Fultz has been instrumental in helping the commission in areas where it is “ignorant”. His ability to organize and write a coherent draft plan was great. If DBMC hadn’t had him, the draft plan likely wouldn’t have been written.
4. Aquaculture
Subcommittee led by Shawn Dahlen met with the wild shellfishermen
Working to produce a wild shellfish map
Want to take the map and digitize it to show relevant areas
Sending a letter to grant holders for grant coordinates
Data needs to be input
John Brawley will plot the data along with other highlights
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30 pm.
